The clouds and rain rolled out of Normandy, leaving us in the French countryside with almost a full week of sun. I enjoyed soaking in some vitamin D by relaxing on our balcony in a cozy lounge chair that my mother-in-law brought over for me.
I also redesigned my husband’s website – he is an English to French translator, plus offers other French language services. He wanted his site to have a fresh, clean look.
He also wanted to include a video introduction in the sidebar. We just finished taking a photo of him for his “About” page outside on the balcony and thought to shoot the video there since the sun was out and the cherry tree provided a wonderful backdrop. However, there was one thing we did not account for when choosing this location for the video! Watch the following 15 second clip…
Yes, that is right! We are living in the French countryside, so with every shot we had something hollering in the background – roosters hollering, chickens clucking, cows mooing and dogs barking. And when we finally got silence, this would happen…
We would start laughing when there was silence, expecting something to happen. After 45 minutes of trying to shoot this video outside, we ended up videotaping us laughing more than his actual presentation.
We decided to move it into the house. The wallpaper in the office is not very stylish, but is worse in the living room – so we pulled the orange divider over to block the view. We are only renting this place for one year and it was decorated by a country man, so it desperately could use a makeover. If you are curious, you can see the final video on his website at lebrastranslations.com.
The final video is free of the sounds of the French countryside but it is too bad we could not do the video outside. After a week of working on his site, I was itching to jump back to my own websites. I missed working on French Mamma and am glad to be back.
