One of the most difficult things about living in France is being so far away from my family. When I decided to make the move, I had to figure out a way to make it easy and affordable for them to stay in touch. My mother was used to daily phone calls before my big move, and I wanted to make sure that we could keep up the same level of communication.
I did not want my family to be troubled with buying calling cards and entering long codes. My father doesn’t have a computer, so that also limited my options. I found a unique solution from Skype that allows my family to call a US phone number to reach my house phone in France, and I only pay $0.02/minute for their incoming calls.
